Summer is Officially Over

It's been a wild summer.  Bought a house and moved in.  Sold my previous house.  Stayed in a friend's house while waiting for closing then found out house I was staying in was haunted.  Went to a Cambridge Latin teacher workshop in Dallas and an AP Conference at UTSA in SA.  Went to Schlitterbahn several times with my friend Jeana, and once with my children, Travis and Leah Pope. 
I'm officially worn out but I'm glad to have the house business behind me.  It's a beautiful house and I'm so glad I had the summer off to close and move in.  It was a stressful and difficult closing and I had to fight both my realtor and his buddy, my lender LeaderOne Financial, to get the deal I was promised.  The lender called me and idiot in an email and was generally the most unprofessional man I've ever dealt with.  I'm still not on good terms with my realtor and will probably never see him again.

But the good news is I hung in there, gave it everything I had, and now have a beautiful house to show for it.

Chris Thompson, my realtor, and I went to visit this property today.  It was the first property we'd visited, other than my friend Bill Power's house which we saw about a month ago.  I really liked the house.  Beautiful back yard, lot of privacy, big trees, huge house, lots of storage.  Had a lot of soul.  Be just right for me and a roommate or just me, if we can get the monthly payment adjusted.  Great neighborhood and the other houses are more than this house, which will increase its value.  Current owners are in a hurry to sell.

South by Southwest, Austin 2012

Had a great time at SXSW in Austin yesterday, with my son Travis and his girlfriend, Chelsey. Saw the Counting Crowes, Alabama Shakes, and a great twelve piece rhythm and blues, funk band from Austin and several others. There was a sea of people.
